Cynthia Johnson has worked for over 40 years in the healthcare field and moved up the career ladder from Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager, and Director of Nursing and has held the position of Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer at Baptist Lutheran Medical Center, Menorah Medical Center, Research Medical Center, Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center and Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital.
Cynthia began her professional career with Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and has worked for Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally, she has completed her vocational certification to become a Legal Nurse Consultant and worked with attorneys on staffing and standard documentation issues. Cynthia has extensive knowledge in building work redesign teams that assist nursing in streamlining processes that affect patient care. She created a management reference book for new managers to use with day-to-day operations. She believes in providing collaboration and training sessions for nursing staff and physicians to improve customer service standards.
Additionally, she has developed and presented management training sessions for Directors, Nurse Managers and charge nurses. Presentations include understanding productivity, developing leadership skills, succession planning, and how to motivate your team. She has designed evaluation tools to assist managers in monitoring staff more effectively. She is energetic and motivated and enjoys; presentations that will aid hospitals in preparing leaders for today’s workforce and the future.
